The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has officially announced the commencement of its Direct Short Service Commission (DSSC) Course 34/2025 recruitment exercise. The call is open to qualified Nigerian graduates and postgraduates who are interested in serving the nation through the Air Force.
According to the notice signed by Air Vice Marshal A.H. Bakari, on behalf of the Chief of the Air Staff, the application process is free of charge and available online via the official portal: www.nafrecruitment.airforce.mil.ng.

About the Direct Short Service Commission (DSSC)
The Direct Short Service Commission (DSSC) is a special type of enlistment open to both civilians and serving military personnel. It provides opportunities for degree holders and professionals in specified fields to join the Nigerian Air Force.
- Training Duration: 6 months of intensive military training.
- Commissioned Rank: Successful candidates are commissioned into the rank of Flying Officer.

General Requirements for Applicants
- Nationality: Applicants must be Nigerian citizens by birth.
- Age Limit:
- 20 – 32 years for general applicants.
- 25 – 40 years for medical doctors (consultants).
- Height Requirements:
- Male: Minimum 1.66m
- Female: Minimum 1.63m
- Fitness: Applicants must be medically, physically, and psychologically fit.
- Educational Requirements:
- Minimum of Second Class Upper Division (First Degree) or Upper Credit (HND).
- MSc/MA and professional certifications are added advantages.
- Applicants must also have credit in English Language, Mathematics, and three other relevant subjects.
- NYSC: Applicants must possess an NYSC Discharge Certificate or Letter of Exemption.
- Character: Applicants must be free from any criminal convictions.

- Two recent passport-sized photographs (signed & stamped).
- Birth certificate or age declaration.
