The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has officially invited 286,697 applicants to participate in its computer-based recruitment test for 3,927 vacancies across the Superintendent, Inspectorate, and Customs Assistant cadres.
This recruitment exercise, advertised on December 27, 2024, received an overwhelming 573,523 applications in the first phase. After a thorough screening process, only 286,697 qualified candidates were shortlisted for the next stage.
NCS Recruitment Test Date and Format
According to a statement signed by the NCS National Public Relations Officer, Abdullahi Maiwada, and shared on the Service’s official X account:
- The second phase of the recruitment exercise will hold from September 14th to 21st, 2025.
- The test will be conducted online via a Computer-Based Test (CBT) platform.
- A mandatory pre-test exercise will be available two days before the main exam to help candidates familiarize themselves with the system.
NOTE: Shortlisted candidates will receive two separate links: one for the pre-test and another for the actual exam.

The NCS cautioned candidates about the sensitivity of the CBT application:

Special Note for Superintendent Cadre Applicants
Candidates applying for the Superintendent Cadre (Level 8) will face an additional CBT in the next phase of the recruitment exercise. This condition does not apply to Inspectorate and Customs Assistant cadres.
